In the afternoon of 24th May, 2016, the Agricultural Minister in accompany with the Director of Rural Project, the Chief of Rural Project in Kankan, and officers from Mandiana province and Kankan city, visited the worksite.
The Minister briefed the local people about a training program after the completion of the project, in order to educate the locals how to cultivate and make best use of the lands, as well as the government would provide necessary machinery and equipment for fulfilling the local expectation. She was satisfied with the progress and quality of the works, and encouraged CGC team to worker harder, so the locals could have rice planted in the field as soon as possible.
Following the meeting, the Minister and her accompanies visited the worksite. She urged the Consultant to choose 3 to 4 blocks for trial planning. The accompanying officers assured the Minister that the land would also be able to produce 6 tons of rice per hectare as did in Guinee, and would have this Project made an example for the future land development.
